110 Degrees of Fun

The sisters and their husbands drove over to the Parker Strip for the Labor Day weekend. We drove past the sand dunes of Glamis.

If you look closely, you'll see the ambient temperature outside is 113

California side: The new Sundance Resort

Arizona side: Pirates Den.

We stopped for another dip near the Blue Water Casino

And a brew of course!

Lots of water activity, boating, swimming, cliff jumpers

We all had our River hats! I can't believe after 3 days on the water, none of us were sunburned.

Now it's 108. They say it's a dry heat. Hot is hot.
With being on the river, having house a/c; I couldn't believe how wonderful it was.

Cruising  through Topac Canyon. The River was 78 degrees and Lake Havasu was 84 degrees

Kids playing under the railway bridge having fun until the buzz kill came along

Thanks for sharing your home with us this weekend. Boating was a blast!

Topac Bar; swimming pool, stage with live music, BBQ; and bare bottoms! What fun!

Keeping the Tradition Alive

Mexican grass that Richard planted several years ago in Mom & Dad's front yard is blooming. It is amazing!

We've been making sausage for years at the Oswald's

This scale is 65 years old

The sausage filler belonged to my Dad's grandpa; cast iron, hand crank, made originally in Philadelphia, PA

We used sheep and hog casings to make those sausages and weiners "pop" !

They smoked until they became a beautiful shade of pink

Mom had a matching set of necklace and earrings!

All the equipment went home with Chuck and his daughter Alicia to continue the tradition.

Denise and Gary flew in and the next day was our family reunion party. We haven't all been together since Dad passed on Easter Sunday last year. So with Kaela and Josh in the States, what a wonderful opportunity!
