River Park, Grants Pass

From Las Vegas we drove two long 400 mile days.. We saw some incredible countryside we will revisit but didn't take the time to explore this time. Tim is anxious to get home. He's like a horse heading back to the barn. I know he's right, there is so much that needs to be done once home. It was a really enjoyable ride with a mixture of snow, sunshine, showers. All with an awesome view. This is going over Donner Pass.

And this is Lake Shasta. I was so excited to see snow and trees. Living in San Diego the weather is always warm and "perfect". I like to dress for the seasons, and able to wear boots, jacket and a scarf to stay warm instead of protect myself from the sun. I like those things for about a month. And I've realized I cannot live without blue skies for months at a time any more.

We did decide to spend two nights in Grants Pass to visit with Jill. She recommended a fabulous RV park on the Rogue River. We started with a Bloody Mary.

Room with a view

There is just never enough time to spend with girlfriends.

We walked along the Rogue River; ate a little food

Jill with Lucky and Star.

We made some yummy donut glazes: blueberry, basil, bourbon; a jalapeno jelly one and another that was habanero apricot. We drizzled these glazes on donut holes for dessert. Hot and sweet. Like us!

Our final stay of the Maiden Voyage.

Bass Pro Shop

It's our last day in Vegas. The wind is blowing and the sky is trying to cry measurable precipitation. Today we went with Dennis and Jackie to:

Have you been to the Bass Pro Shop?  It's a Cabela's to the next degree

Love the fish

And the mermaids

This is our final night with the Korchak's. They have been very good friends to us and helped us with our RV experience. Not often are there couples where the men and women get along equally. We've been good boating partners for many years and have progressed to RV partners. We look forward to crossing paths and sharing experiences for many years.

I may have been out of focus, but you get the picture!

Vegas Baby

We drove to Mandalay Bay and took the tram to Excalibur. It's been so many years since Tim and I have been here that the hotel we stayed at no longer exists. And there are walkways to keep people off the road. It is wonderful. I hated wearing "walking" shoes, but I'm old now. I looked at the hoochie mama's with their CFMP's and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Walked the strip to Venetian. The indoors look like daylight. Vegas never sleeps.

Bellagio with it's amazing spring garden and Dale Chihuly glass, spring flowers showcased in gardens and plants turned into living pictures in frames.

The classic Famingo hotel

No, it wasn't just my astigmatism all messed up. Those buildings were just not right.

Much to my disappointment these were not cake donuts. They are soap!
What??!! I have a furious sweet tooth!

And of course Caesars Palace. Did I mention it's really cold out? Not even close to the 80's we've been living in and we're just not acclimated. I had to pull out my Arizona winter clothes. Brrr. It's like in the 50's.
