Horseshoes

Every Thursday there is a horseshoe tournament at Pirates Den. Tim and I didn't sign up for the season because we were short timers - only here for the month. So we were available to fill in for whoever couldn't make it. It was so much fun.

That's me from behind.

Lynn was ready to hand over the trophy to this weeks winner.

Afterwards was a potluck dinner in the clubhouse for Dales birthday and also to celebrate Denny & Kristina's 40th wedding anniversary. It's our last night here. Please, don't make me leave. We made a reservation for next year. Although we won't be in the front row we hand picked our spot for next year. We can only hope for the wonderful warm weather we had this year.

Jet boating with the girls

Sharon took a few of us ladies out for the afternoon on her jet boat.

We went up river to Parker Dam

Stopped at Fox's, the Roadrunner, and finished up at Blue Water Casino.

Tim's Birthday Weekend

We woke up to freshly baked cinnamon rolls that Annette made and delivered just for Tim's birthday. They were delicious. Kay drove from Phoenix to spend the weekend with us.

Annette took her stand up paddle board 6 miles downriver from Pirates Den to Blue Water Casino.

We took a boat ride upriver

Never a dull moment, we had another reason to leave our liver at the river.

Tim was in charge of securing the boat

Someone left a note

I'm sure it wasn't meant for Yogi

Lake Havasu Balloon Festival

The hot air balloons take off at sunrise and sunset - weather permitting. We experienced both. I'll let the pictures do the talking...........

The mountain is really pink

Touch and go; dipping the basket into the lake.

Mom came to visit for the weekend

Chris and Chuck came back and brought Mom to the Parker Strip for a weekend. We had so much fun. First they stopped by our place.

The next day the guys rode the quads to the Desert Bar and we drove. The Desert Bar is located 4 miles off-road in the middle of nowhere. It is 100% solar powered. Open October-April, weekends only from 10 am to dusk, they have live music, full bar and good food. It's pretty insane. 100's of people were there for the day. Probably over a 1000 people. Mom kept commenting, whoever started this place is a genius - she could not believe how busy it was.

Every year they add something new, this year it was a proper food kitchen so the food trucks have a place to cook. This is the food line.

After the Desert Bar we took Mom to Fox's on the River for lunch. What a wonderful day.

Quartzsite

We unhooked the Beast and drove to the desert in Quartzsite to visit Dennis & Jackie and their Montana Owners Club. We boondocked (dry-camped) for a couple of nights in the desert.

Jackie and I joined a group to make Christmas spiders from beads.  In a nutshell, the Christmas spider legend is about spiders who's webs glistened on the tree. This is where tinsel comes from. If you look closely you will see how intricate and lovely they are.

The desert was quite lovely, but the serenity of the moment was lost being next to so many other RV's with their generators humming for hours on end. This is the wagon wheel circle of the Montana fifth wheel club. We are the first SOB (some other brand) outside the circle at about 10 o'clock in the photo.
