Keeping the Tradition Alive

Mexican grass that Richard planted several years ago in Mom & Dad's front yard is blooming. It is amazing!

We've been making sausage for years at the Oswald's

This scale is 65 years old

The sausage filler belonged to my Dad's grandpa; cast iron, hand crank, made originally in Philadelphia, PA

We used sheep and hog casings to make those sausages and weiners "pop" !

They smoked until they became a beautiful shade of pink

Mom had a matching set of necklace and earrings!

All the equipment went home with Chuck and his daughter Alicia to continue the tradition.

Family Reunion

Denise and Gary flew in and the next day was our family reunion party. We haven't all been together since Dad passed on Easter Sunday last year. So with Kaela and Josh in the States, what a wonderful opportunity!

She's Back !!!

Kaela and Joshua flew in to San Diego from Wellington, New Zealand. It is so wonderful to see her and to meet him. We had a tearful reunion at the airport then took her to her Dad's house in Carlsbad to settle in. We've since spent time together at the beach in Coronado boogie boarding and they spent the night with us in the Moho.

I didn't take any pictures until we spent the afternoon at Swami's in Encinitas. This is a place we spent together when we lived in Solana Beach and Kaela wanted to share the beauty with Josh. There will be plenty more pictures to come. Sometimes it's just weird taking pictures all the time, especially when you're just living your regular life - which is how I feel when I'm in San Diego.

Sunny San Diego

Driving through LA wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. Other than the freeway being is horrible dis-repair, we made good time. We pulled in to our RV site at Bernardo Shores in Imperial Beach for a 1 month stay. It's pretty nice - clean & tidy - but not many amenities. Not that you really need them in San Diego. There is so much to do.

Our first visitors will Daniel and Evie. We watched the Seahawk/Charger preseason game together and feasted on authentic Mexican food. The boys went golfing the next day.

It is pretty warm here and we have some humidity. Too hot for me with the humidity, but over the weeks I've acclimated a bit. Luckily here on the beach we have a constant breeze.
