Fort Huachuca & the Buffalo Soldiers

Fort Huachuca is an active Amy Base near Sierra Vista, AZ. We went to the museum to see the history of the area including the Buffalo Soldiers and Apache Code Talkers.

Good advice is always in style.

During this period the Aftrican-American soldiers were not able to serve side by side with white soldiers. Here at Fort Huachuca they lived, trained, and served in separate quarters. Like the white soldiers, their women supported them through the Army Nurse Corps and Women's Army Corp, Their nickname came from the Apaches who likened them to the strength and stamina of the mighty buffalo.

Buffalo soldier, in the heart of America
Stolen from Africa, brought to America
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival
Buffalo soldier win the war for America.
