Tombstone & Boot Hill Graveyard

We're about 50 miles south of Tucson Arizona. The altitude here is about 4500 feet and so it's cooler than the Phoenix area. It's been in the mid 70's and breezy most days. Very breezy some days. We hear and feel the wind gusts in the motorhome. Unlike Tim, I like a little weather. He likes it hot and sunny. I just really enjoy blue skies. I do not miss the grey skies of Tacoma during the winter months.

I'm sure you've all heard of Tombtone. We went to Boot Hill Graveyard to see the resting place of many outlaws, innocents, with a few Chinese laborers tossed in. Most people did not live to be very old. Times were tough and the town was rough.

Here lies Lester Moore

The streets of Tombstone have been resurrected to show the tourists what things looked like. As you can imagine, they looked bigger in the movies (because those movies were filmed at Tucson Studios - not here). There are many people in period costume around to answer any questions you may have.

We saw gunshot holes in the Bird Cage Theater. This original painting was commissioned by the famous belly dancer pictured and has been hanging in this spot since the 1800's.

These are the stairs leading to where the women serviced the men. If walls could talk.

We went to a touristy shootout at the OK Corral. But after personally being a part of the stunt show at Tucson Studios, this was pretty boring.

This colorful guy I found more entertaining.

The original Courthouse was very interesting.
